Complementary & Chinese Approaches to Management

Cells are part of a community; cooperating, building and working together to maintain organ or tissue function. Cancer cells are rogues; demanding more than their due, invading other tissues and eventually killing the host that gave rise to them. Cancer stem cells are the leaders that control and direct other cells to grow uncontrollably.
The cancer stem cell (CSC) theory proposes a radically different understanding of tumor development, progression and metastases. CSCs are a small population within a tumor but appear to be the ‘driving’ factor. CSCs are also multiple drug resistant (MDR), meaning, chemotherapy and radiotherapies, while shrinking tumor mass have little or no impact on the CSC population. This is why tumors reoccur. More >
